Fiscal Sponsorship
Our sponsor, Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Alliance (PDM Alliance) is a non-profit corporation, exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended (the “Code”). It is formed for purposes which, according to its by-laws, shall be organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. The Sponsor organization is formed to fulfill the expressed mission of inspiring creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community.
The Project: Parkinson’s Disease Support Group of Southern New Mexico (PDSGSNM) is an entity also formed to fulfill the expressed mission of meeting the needs of and serving people with Parkinson’s Disease.
Financial Accounting and Reporting: The Sponsor agrees to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions on behalf of the Project and report the contributions as required by law. The Project will protect the Sponsor’s tax-exempt status. The Project will utilize the funds to provide mission focused services. The Sponsor will maintain book and financial records for the Project in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Project may solicit contributions that are earmarked for the activities of the Project.
This relationship allows a sponsored organization to solicit and raise contributed income from grants and private contributions.
